What to Expect
Most dermatology visits start with your provider examining the area of concern and discussing what they’re seeing — whether it looks routine or warrants closer evaluation, such as a biopsy. Many procedures, like skin tag or wart removal, are completed in a single visit with local numbing as needed. Biopsy results, when applicable, typically take a few days to return, and our office will follow up with you.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if a mole needs to be checked?
Watch for the ABCDE warning signs: Asymmetry, Border irregularity, Color variation, Diameter larger than a pencil eraser, and Evolution (any change over time). If you notice any of these, schedule an exam rather than waiting.
Will removing a mole or skin tag leave a scar?
Most minor removals heal with minimal scarring, though this varies by procedure and location. Your provider can talk through what to expect for your specific case.
Do I need a dermatologist referral for these services?
No, for most common concerns. We handle a wide range of dermatology procedures directly. More complex or specialized cases may be referred out, but your provider will let you know if that’s needed.
