ABOUT US
A Hometown Practice, Built on Trust Since the 1940s
Our Story
A Timeline of Continuity
Greever Clinic founded by Dr. Bill and Dr. Don Greever.
Dr. Bill Greever delivers babies at the clinic and in patients' homes.
Delivery services shift to Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon as regional hospital care expands.
Dr. Wayne Reynolds takes over the practice, serving alongside his role as Operational Medical Director for Chilhowie Fire and EMS.
Gerard Murphy, M.D. joins the practice after completing residency, beginning what is now more than 25 years of continuous local care.
Dr. Murphy leads a team that includes Rebecca Nash, FNP, and Jessica Reynolds, FNP, continuing the practice's original mission under the name Family Care of Chilhowie.
Our Mission
Why Families Choose Us
Most of our patients don’t think of us as “a doctor’s office” — they think of us as their family’s doctor’s office, the way their parents and grandparents did before them. That continuity is the difference between a practice that knows your chart and one that knows your family history. As a privately owned clinic, we set our own priorities: more time per visit, more consistency in who you see, and a team that recognizes your voice on the phone.
